  This is the main area of Kennedy Space Center Visitor complex. Here, you view launches from if you did not get launch transportation tickets.   This is a picture of the setup of Kennedy Space Center's main complex. Here, people without launch transportation tickets can view shuttle launches. Note the setup of benches and other temporary facilities. This picture was taken on launch scrub day in summer 2006.  This is a view from the NASA Causeway of launch pad 39A (to the right, somewhat hard to see).Taken without zoom lens, it closely resembles what you see with your eyes. The Causeway viewing area is around six miles away from the pad.

Description : Note the truck on the right: it actually has a very big outdoor screen. I assume the initial launch phase will be televised here. The view from the main complex is obstructed, so the screen must make up for the first few seconds.

I have not seen it in action, as STS-115 was too much delayed and I needed to leave before it rocketed into space.
