 STS 120 in Flight

Pictures from Discovery's STS-120 flight. For obvious reasons, photo credit for all of them is NASA. For more details, please see my STS-120 blog.

There can now be seen two rips in the solar array. Note the smaller one to the right.

At the World Space Expo 2007 in Kennedy Space Center, a model of the "repair kit" for ISS' solar arrays is demonstrated. Joe from JSC said he flew in yesterday and has assembled the part today from things he quickly got at the local hardware store (of course, in space they use somewhat different material, but you get the idea).
